Gallagher Co. is a family-owned custom home builder, remodeler, and commercial contractor based in Mercer Island, Washington. Founded by Tom and Leanne Gallagher, the company has completed more than 300 projects across the Puget Sound area over the past 20 years.
How Gallagher Co. Started
Tom Gallagher spent the first chapter of his career in commercial construction, managing large-scale projects with complex logistics, strict timelines, and zero room for error. When he and Leanne founded Gallagher Co., they brought that commercial discipline into residential building.
The result is a team that operates differently than most custom home builders. We use project systems and controls built for commercial complexity, paired with a field staff that averages over 20 years of hands-on experience. We believe in tight collaboration with the entire project team and clear, timely communication at every stage.
In the field, we pay attention to the smallest details and obsess over doing things right and doing them once. No callbacks. No loose ends. The homes and commercial spaces we build are meant to endure for generations.

A Family Business
Gallagher Co. started as Tom and Leanne’s company and it still runs that way. Their daughter Lauren manages projects on site as an Assistant Project Manager with a degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington. Anna, a WSU graduate, handles project marketing, social media and keeps the portfolio current.
Behind the family, the team includes senior project managers, a dedicated controller, and seven field superintendents with a combined 200-plus years of construction experience. Every project has a named superintendent on site, a project manager tracking the budget and schedule, and a direct line to leadership.
